For the past twenty-five years, Larry Lyons has been a licensed clinical psychologist. He was licensed at the age of 27, making him one of the youngest people in California to possess such a license.
In 1979, he moved to San Diego to pursue a surfing career after finishing his B.A. degree at St. John’s University in New York in two and a half years. When he got accepted to Alliant University as one of their youngest graduate students at the age of 20.
At the age of 25, he completed this demanding Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology and received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Lyons was accepted into the United States Navy after graduation and commissioned as a full lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps (MSC) in 1983.
At Bethesda Naval Hospital, he did his post-doctoral internship. Dr. Lyons had the opportunity to work closely with a variety of physicians and surgeons during his training at Bethesda.
